Pin spoke with Earth.Org about several topics, including:
- Climate anxiety is becoming more prevalent in Millennials and Gen-Z, who are much more concerned than older generations about the environment, purpose, creating a real impact, and social injustice. All of which are affecting how they are are choosing their jobs and future careers.
- How people can align their careers with their own sustainable and environmental goals, and ways to make a switch to potential green jobs of the future without the necessary experience and background.
- Driving green initiatives within companies (even large corporations) can help support and build one’s own sense of purpose and accomplishment.
- The recent ‘Great Resignation’ showed how people have been evaluating their priorities, and rethinking why they do what they do. She expects this global trend will likely continue and potentially create a shift in society.
-
How the fear of judgement and the unknown are preventing people from making the change that they want.
While there’s no tangible formula in one’s pursuit of fulfilment and happiness, there are several factors to consider and evaluate to help achieve it: getting adequately paid for what you do, working in favour of your strengths, working towards a mission and something that you truly cared about, and whether if you feel you are creating an impact for the greater good.
